Chen Tso Chi

Chen Tso Chifamily name Chen, first name Tso-Chi
born in Taipei, Taiwan / R.O.C.

Her training in Taipei at Ming Chung Commercial College completed in 1973 Chen Tso-Chi happily started a career as an accountant in Asia Trust Company. Soon however she felt that this job was not fulfilling, started to do pottery and wood carving and realized that creating works of art was a worthwhile aim in her life.

Her first sojourn with the natives Yami on “Orchid-Island Lanyu” was an impact on her further development and work. Extensive journeys, not only to mainland China and Hong Kong but also to Japan and USA and to Malaysia, Bali, Germany, Italy a.m.o. followed which matured her and where she continuously enhanced her skills in trainings. Chen Tso-Chi’s works have been presented in many solo- as well as group-exhibitions at home and abroad; in 1988 in Hamburg at Plaza Gallery.

When Friends of Taiwan Bambusrunde e.V. invited me to organize and curate an exhibition for this artist it was my pleasure to accept and we proudly present Mrs Chen’s paintings to the public.
