born in Hamburg 1943

Language studies in England and French speaking Switzerland. Foreign correspondent in Hamburg and Paris; parallel to job she attended advanced training classes in drawing and painting and gave afternoon-courses for school-children: creative handicrafting in various techniques. - From mid 1970s turned away from pencil and paint brush on to free composition with varying materials.

"Since I learnt to move I find pleasure in finding," Anja Brisólla states. "When walking I collect things which open a way deep into my inner self that leads to a tranquility inducing me to bring the hazardously found objects into a consciously defined shape." Thus her trouvailles become three-dimensional images or turn up again in travel-journals which she created of various extraordinary materials. – Also she has been working with fabric for many years now due to its immense variability of usage and expression.

By the end of 1990s she has first stepped out into public with her own works.
